A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that replaces one or several missing teeth. Typically the implant is a two step process and has a far greater success rate than immediate one step implants.

The implant looks like a screw and is made of a bio-friendly titanium alloy. The bone cells grow around the implant, reinforcing it into the jaw and fusing it to the surrounding bone. Since dental implants are placed in the jawbone, they do not rely on adjacent teeth for support as with bridges or partial dentures

Once the bone has had a chance to grow around the implant, the doctors at La Grange Dental Associates will fabricate the visible part or second step. A cap or crown is custom made to have the same appearance and texture as a natural tooth.

Dental Implants are a permanent alternative to bridges or dentures that look and feel like natural teeth.
